Home Update // Essendon

We had the pleasure of recently completing a project for a client in Essendon, Melbourne, who was referred to us by their friend, who is also a satisfied client of ours. The initial objective of the project was to reupholster their existing 3-piece lounge, specifically for the formal area of their home.
Sofa recover
We suggested Warwick fabrics for this particular job; Victory Storm for the body of the suite with scatter cushions in Cheshire Chai and Rathlin Onyx. We added contrast piping in the same fabric as the sofa to tie it all together, just an extra bit of detail.
The Master Bedroom is at the front of the home opposite the formal/living area so in keeping with the period of the home we continued with the monochromatic theme adding layers. We had the Hamptons Bed custom made in another Warwick fabric called Lexus linen with contrast piping.
Here is the mood board with after photo to reference:
Master Moodboard

While we were working out the furniture for the front original part of the house with our clients, there was a whole new rebuild going on at the rear of the house and guess what - it needed all new furniture!
Here is the mood board for the new extension furniture with before photo:

The new living/dining area is a great size space with lovely natural light and gorgeous timber flooring. Although the new extension is modern, we really wanted it to integrate with the front part of the house. We did this by choosing furniture that had subtle curved lines. It is classic, elegant and creates a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Benjamin Ripple Dining Table by GlobeWest

There were two pieces of furniture that were the foundations of this room, the GlobeWest Benjamin Ripple Dining Table, and the Molmic Palisades Modular Sofa

The clients wanted the family area to have maximum seating, so we settled on this configuration which is perfect for prime tv watching but also a great conversational area. The Molmic Palisades Modular Sofa was upholstered in Zepel Bolt Marble Fibreguard fabric for its durability and lovely texture, this colour sits calmly in the space and allows the Molmic Zac Swivel Chair to shine in its gorgeous Fern coloured velvet fabric.

To further play to the curves we added a round rug. The Bayliss Nordic Rug in the colour Pine Cone. It's 3m in diameter, is handwoven and fits this space beautifully zoning the living area from the dining area. Sitting on the rug is a GlobeWest Elle Drum Coffee Table in Brushed Gold which works perfectly with other accents in the room. The whole area is a lovely mix of textures and materials that all work together beautifully. All the cushions and the throws are also from Make Your House A Home.

Sara dining chair by GlobeWest

The dining chairs are GlobeWest Sara Dining Chairs in Natural White Tweed fabric. These chairs were chosen for their curved back for added comfort, and the black legs to add to the harmony of the room. Not sure if you can see in the photo, but the chair legs have little brushed gold caps for another nice little detail to tie back to other pieces in the room.

With green being the accent colour in this room, we continued the relationship through to the GlobeWest Turner Barstools in Vintage Green which slip seamlessly under the kitchen island bench.

We had a lot of fun in the separate bar area, off the living room. The cowhide adds a bit of personality and injects colour and pattern to this space. We kept the bar table elegant and simple in design with the GlobeWest Livorno Bar Table in Black Speckle finish. We paired this table with the GlobeWest Granada Sleigh Bar Stools in Licorice finish due to their comfort and sleekness. This is actually outdoor furniture so perfect for a high use bar area!

We loved every minute of working with these clients. Distance is no barrier with modern technology we can work with you remotely and still achieve a fantastic result as was the case here.

“I was referred by my friends and I wanted someone to give me a helping hand while I was doing this renovation. She told me to look up Lisa at Make Your House A Home, and her upholsterer – which is where we started! My daughter and I felt really comfortable with Lisa from the start. Now it is finished, everything works so well in the house and people are amazed in the difference when they come in!” - Nella
