Ovarian Cancer Australia Fund Raising Event - Coordinated by Make Your House A Home
17-12-12
On behalf of the organising committee for the Mark's family fundraiser, we would like to thank you for your generous donation towards our recent trivia night.
We had a very successful night and have been able to provide the family with some much needed financial support with raising in excess of $25,000.
Once again, thank you
(Make Your House A Home donated a sofa for the fundraising evening)

"The only way to do great work is to love what you do." - Steve Jobs: co-founder, Apple INC
The team at Make Your House A Home feels privileged to be able to do what they love doing in one of the best places to live in Australia.
As our business prospers and grows, we frequently ask ourselves, "What can we do to give back to those less fortunate?"
As a family-focused business, we feel really lucky to be living in a country where most things are within our control and means. Against that, the thought of others not being able to provide for their family with basics like food and water is pretty hard to bear.
And like us, you know some of the statistics on that:-
· 30,000 children die each day due to poverty or 20 children every minute
· Nearly three billion people live on less than two dollars a day
· One billion people lack access to basic health care
Here at Make Your House A Home, we do things just a little differently because of this important belief - we believe that .....
Businesses have the power to change lives
In a world where it really is "pot luck" what country you are born in, for us, it's important that we embed a sense of giving and caring in our individual lifestyle, in our community and in our world. We regard it as absolutely essential.
So, to make that happen - to embed giving in Make Your House A Home's everyday life, we work with the following organisations by giving them financial support:
· Victory Christian College (Bendigo)
· St Francis of the Fields Primary School (Strathfieldsaye)
· Harry Little Pre-School (Bendigo)
· Ovarian Cancer Australia
and then we go an important step further.
Over 70% of businesses are SMEs like us
Make Your House A Home has recently partnered with the Global Giving Initiative known as Buy1Give1 - or B1G1 for short.
By providing tools to track the effectiveness of giving, even small businesses are able to make a significant impact simply and effectively through B1G1. B1G1 gives us over 600 projects to which we can give.
And even better, 100% of contributions made by Make Your House A Home as a B1G1 Business Partner are passed directly to B1G1 through B1G1 Giving. B1G1 takes nothing from their contributions nor does it receive funds from charities in any way for the services it provides.
If you, or someone you know, is interested in being involved with B1G1 or just want to find out more about the good they are doing go to B1G1 - like us, you'll find giving back an extraordinary thing to do.
