Your home or business can be warm, stylish and comfortable with the help of our skilled and experienced interior decorators who will work with you to transform your space into a place where you love spending time.

Casual, formal, traditional, contemporary or something in-between, the same basic principles apply... we take into consideration your likes and dislikes when preparing your concept.

We can help you with:

Make Your House A Home has different packages depending on your needs:

IN-STORE ADVICE + SELECTION - $80 per hour

In-store visit, one-on-one with your makeyourhouseahome consultant to discuss furniture selection and placement. Working from your photographs, plans, and/or magazine clippings we will help you develop your ideas and guide your choices, whether you want a new look or to simply update your current one.

(If purchase/s made on the day from makeyourhouseahome of $1000 or more you receive $50 off your consultation fee - excludes sale items)

IN-HOME ADVICE + REPORT - $200 to $500 package

In-home visit by your makeyourhouseahome consultant who will take photographs, notes + measurements of areas you need help with. Your consultant will leave and develop a concept which will be later presented to you in-store with a written report and samples.

1 room = $200, 2-3 rooms = $350, full house = $500 (This cost is rebated against purchase/s of $4000 or more made from makeyourhouseahome within 3 months of your consultation)

IN-HOME STYLING SERVICE - $100 per hour

For clients who already have bigger pieces and need help with the finishing touches... A makeyourhouseahome consultant can visit your home with pieces they have selected, place in position (style) and if approved and paid for leave with you - this service usually takes 2 hours.

DESIGN + COLOUR ADVICE SERVICE - $150 per hour

For clients who don't wish to buy our affordable furniture or homewares - they just want advice regarding colours, placement of existing furniture etc ... A consultant from makeyourhouseahome can meet you in-store or visit your home or work place to advise you; taking into consideration your ideas and current furnishings.

(this service is charged by the hour - minimum fee is $150)

What if I don't live near a store?

makeyourhouseahome consultants will travel outside their local area - a travel fee of $40 per hour applies which is non-refundable, or we can correspond with you via email (photographs etc)

What can we expect to happen, if we would like to go ahead and book a consultation???

COMMON EXAMPLE (local area)

Jane Smith just moved into a newly built home with her family, they moved furniture from their old home but it is just not working and doesn't do the new home justice. Jane doesn't know where to start, so she makes an appointment for a makeyourhouseahome consultant to visit. Jane prepares for the visit by having an accurate copy of the floor plan ready for the consultant so the consultant doesn't need to waste time having to hand measure all the rooms. Jane also has a list of any questions or items that she wishes to discuss with the consultant during the visit. The consultant walks through the house, takes photographs of the rooms that need to be considered and then discusses Jane's "wish list" (client brief) making notes as necessary. A budget can also be discussed in regards to the consultation fee.

During the week or so following the visit the consultant develops a concept with a course of action that needs to be taken for Jane to achieve her desired outcome. This may include, but is not limited to:

Sourcing ideal furniture + accessories to suit clients "brief"
Drawing suggested items to scale on the floor plan so the client can visualise how they will sit within their space
Pictures, pricing and swatches of the recommended items
Paint colour or wall paper suggestions (if required)
Window furnishing ideas (if required)

Jane then meets with her consultant at the makeyourhouseahome showroom to go over the suggestions (this time is not billable). At this point the client will receive a copy of their report (if requested) and a bill which is due to be paid at that time.

Within the next 3 months - if Jane proceeds and orders the items recommended and the total value of the order is $4000+, then the consultants fee is refunded from the total and 30% deposit required to be paid for makeyourhouseahome to start organising for the consolidation of the order. This can be done in 2 stages if requested by the client ... the furniture delivered and placed as per the report and then the consultant returns to accessorise and style the finishing touches... ie. cushions, throw rugs, decorator accessories etc...

SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

We are only happy if you are happy, so open communication between client and consultant is crucial. Take some time letting your consultant know key issues, ie. if you dislike a particular colour, it would be handy to let her know so that it can be avoided in the concept... If for any reason you don't like our suggestions we will keep working with you until you do... our most important goal is to help you make your house a home that suits you and your lifestyle!
