![]() Celebrated Melbourne textile designer has made the natural progression from designing stylish bags, purses and accessories to a new collection of striking floor rugs, in conjunction with The Rug Collection. The theme across each design encapsulates Nicola's love of nature with plant life, floral images, and seaweed the major focus. Strongly influenced by her natural surroundings, Nicola's work also explores striking silhouettes and colours that she experiences everyday, celebrated in her eponymous range of handbags. In 1995 Nicola Cerini Australia was established in Melbourne to produce highly individual furnishings. Four years later Nicola began manufacturing her characteristic ?Plasto? designer handbag range that quickly became the signature of her business. Nicola is now applying her skills to new ranges and products. This season sees the launch of rugs and ceramics in a combination of new designs and the most classic and popular prints. "I look to design things that people find meaning in - everyday objects, plants and animals and to produce things that are fun and engaging." Nicola has a wide and loyal following throughout Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Her love of travel, Oriental themes and passion for Australia?s native flora and wildlife also inspire her designs. The business supports conservation projects and is run on ethical and sustainable principles. |
