d-Bodhi is synonymous with quality + design, and has been embraced by Make Your House A home for it's relevance to the Australian lifestyle and environmental conscience.
The d-Bodhi concept is all about using resources in the most efficient way ... when recycling timber they use even the smallest off-cuts most would just discard. What looks like useless scrap wood is taken from old disused houses, bridges and railroads and transformed into beautiful furnishings and decor for your home.
old wood
new life
no waste
Using processes certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) the old wood is brought back to life by handcrafting them into exquisite, functional and innovative furniture pieces.

The name???
The 'd' comes from Raymond Davids, the founders last name, and the 'Bodhi' is the Sanskrit word for enlightenment or awakening.
frequently asked questions
1. What type of finish is applied to the surface of the wood?
The product is sold as unfinished. During the treatment of the wood it is put in a bath which evens out the colours of the different types of pieces that are used and makes it a bit darker, but there is no special finish.
2. What happens when I spill something on the surface, is it stain resistant?
Teakwood is hardwood so the liquid will not go inside but will show on the surface. To avoid stains sweep the whole surface of the furniture equally (not just the area that's been spilled on) with a wet cloth.
3. What guarantee do I have the wood will not expand or split?
It is reclaimed wood. The handmade furniture pieces are a work of art. Crackings can not be avoided and are in fact a characteristic of the piece.
4. How do I care for the furniture?
Try to avoid putting the furniture next to the heating. In the winter time, when the house is heated, please put some water in a cup in the room to enhance the humidity. This is good for the furniture, and for your own health as well.
5. Can the furniture be used outdoors or in a covered patio area?
It's hardwood so it can be used outside, but please be aware that the colour will change to light grey.
6. What is the production time of the furniture?
The production time is @ 8 weeks, if not in stock.
