d-Bodhi have many collections that combine contemporary and classical designs that are stylish, sustainable and affordable ...
perfect for today's casual lifestyle.
d-Bodhi is synonymous with quality + design, and has been embraced by Make Your House A home for it's relevance to the Australian lifestyle and environmental conscience.
The d-Bodhi concept is all about using resources in the most efficient way ... when recycling timber they use even the smallest off-cuts most would just discard. What looks like useless scrap wood is taken from old disused houses, bridges and railroads and transformed into beautiful furnishings and decor for your home.

The name???
The 'd' comes from Raymond Davids, the founders last name, and the 'Bodhi' is the Sanskrit word for enlightenment or awakening.
Recycled Metals
Bodhi's quest to reuse and recycle materials inspired us to add a surprise element to the furniture designs … combine new metal pipes and recycled galvanized pipe fittings with the warmth of reclaimed teak wood.
Our recycling story begins with a trip to the iron foundry on the north coast of Java … an amazing experience. Spread out in two factory locations over 40,000m2, each year 7,200 tons of recycled iron pipe fittings are exported to Europe, Asia and South America, along with producing an 80% share of the domestic market.
The amazing part is watching all these steps done by hand from 1,000 workers cutting, pouring, sandblasting, and finished each pipe.
frequently asked questions
1. What type of finish is applied to the surface of the wood?
The
product is sold as unfinished. During the treatment of the wood it is
put in a bath which evens out the colours of the different types of
pieces that are used and makes it a bit darker, but there is no special
finish.
2. What happens when I spill something on the surface, is it stain resistant?
Teakwood
is hardwood so the liquid will not go inside but will show on the
surface. To avoid stains sweep the whole surface of the furniture
equally (not just the area that's been spilled on) with a wet cloth.
3. What guarantee do I have the wood will not expand or split?
It
is reclaimed wood. The handmade furniture pieces are a work of art.
Crackings can not be avoided and are in fact a characteristic of the
piece.
4. How do I care for the furniture?
Try
to avoid putting the furniture next to the heating. In the winter
time, when the house is heated, please put some water in a cup in the
room to enhance the humidity. This is good for the furniture, and for
your own health as well.
5. Can the furniture be used outdoors or in a covered patio area?
It's hardwood so it can be used outside, but please be aware that the colour will change to light grey.
6. What is the production time of the furniture?
The production time is @ 8 weeks, if not in stock.
